Astor House Museum Built in 1867 to accommodate legislators when Golden was the Territorial Capital and operated as a boarding house for more than 100 years. Now a museum, visitors experience frontier Colorado boarding house life. Museum & gift shop open Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Admission. Located in historic downtown Golden Link.

Cherokee Ranch & Castle Guided tours and English-style teas are offered at this historic building just 20 miles south of Denver. Built in 1926, the house museum is modeled after a Scottish castle, and features an extensive collection of art and antiques. It is surrounded by 14,000 acres of open space and offers spectacular views of the Front Range  Link.

Colorado Railroad Museum I-70, Exit 265 Westbound, exit 266 Eastbound. Fourteen acres of historic Colorado trains. Outside: over 60 cars and locomotives from Colorado's historic mountain railroads. Inside: artifacts and model railroad and excellent railroad gift shop. Daily 9 a.m  Link.

South Park City Museum Authentic restoration of 19th century mining town. Forty original buildings and exhibit areas. Open daily May 15 - Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. Motor coach parking available, group rates available. Plan on spending two hours exploring this fascinating museum. Link.

Western Museum of Mining & Industry Relive America’s western mining heritage at the museum that works! There is something for every age and interest featuring restored and operating multi-ton steam engines, mining equipment, gold panning, minerals, art and antiques, live burros and nature explorations. The Wildlife Experience Museum An interactive, and ever-changing museum, that features art, natural history, film and interactive galleries for kids. Combining a giant screen theater, children's gallery, a variety of educational programs including arts and crafts classes, and several changing art exhibits. It's more than a museum...it's an Experience Link.

The Parish House Museum Constructed in 1914 by the recognized founder of Johnstown, Colorado is the home of Harvey and Mary Parish and is a nicely appointed Arts and Crafts bungalow located at 701 Charlotte Street. The recently restored dwelling now houses the offices of the Johnstown Historical Society, and a museum. The museum is open on Wednesdays 9-noon, Saturdays 1-4 p.m. Link.
