Fort Collins Colorado City Parks

City Park. The cities main park and the scene of the annual fourth of July fireworks celebration. The fireworks are shot from the western edge of City Park Lake.   The park has a miniature train which operates for the young ones every summer. It is also the track terminus for the summer only trolley car ride to downtown town. The park includes ball parks, picnic areas, basketball, children's playground and has a neat hill for kite flying and sledding in the winter. Next door is Ft Collins' original golf course City Park nine. It is more challenging than it looks. Map

Edora Park This park is the home of the Edora pool and ice rink, located in the southeast corner of the park. It is also the home for the 18 hole disk golf course and two ball parks. One of the favorite places for the young is the skate park. This park is a specially designed skateboard and rollerblade area. Edora has a nice playground and a BMX (bike) track with many hills and sharp corners. It has horseshoe pits and tennis courts too. It has good parking an immediate access to the Spring Creek Trail.  Fossil Creek Park is one of Ft Collins newest additions. This 99 acre park located in south Ft Collins. This park is a little unusually because it has a pre-historic theme. There is a tar pit climbing wall and old pre-historic animals to climb on. It also has ball fields, a roller hockey rink, tennis and basketball. It has it's own dog park too. Fossil Creek Park also has the urban obstacle skateboard track. Map
