Keating Timnath, The Little Town Who Will
The small town of Timnath is about ready to start on it's way to one
of the fastest growing small towns in America. Like Windsor,
Severence, Johnstown and Eaton among others little Timnath is the
next in a long list of small growing towns in Northern Colorado.
Presently about 250 people call Timnath home. This number will
shortly begin it's climb to the 1000's.
In June of 2004 the city comprised 200 acres. Now
after five annexations it has grown to 2,675 acres. You can do the
math but on a percentage basis that is a lot of growth.
If you drive through Timnath today you can see
only one small development, Fairview Village, which is located just
north of downtown on county road 5, and compromises only 26 lots and
about 78 to 100 people will live there. That small development alone
is a 50% growth rate.
As you drive east on Harmony Road things really
change. When you look to the north side of the road you will see
earth movers, huge pipes and all of the supplies necessary for a
large development. These developments are Timnath Ranch, Harmony,
Serratoga Falls, Timnath South and Timnath Farms North. These
residential developments will eventually be home to over 11,500
Northern Colorado residents.
How long will all this take, no on really knows
but it will be years. In a discussion with the folks that are
responsible for all this they stated, "it's exciting but scary too.
We think we are ready and will do just fine". |
